Overhanging Anchent Tree

I often consider makeing my photos black and white but 90% of the time I like them better in color. This is one of those rare times when I looked at the black and white and thought it really improved the photo. The color version contain a lot of green (from the grass and moss) and a very blue sky which distracts from the crumbling temple. The black and white version allows you to better view the ancient temple which is the best part of the photo.

Stone Stairs To Nowhere

Was checking out the view of the falls at Sooke Potholes Provincial Park when I noticed a fenced in foundation of an abandoned building. All that remained of the old building was the stone walls and stairs. These stairs seemed to go to nowhere along a cliff that lead down to the river below.

Seaspan Sunset

Down quite a number of stairs from UBC is the clothing optional area of wreck beach. Wreck beach gets pretty busy in the summer but on this clear December day there weren't many people around.

Lighthouse Park

Just below all the million dollar mansions of West Vancouver is Lighthouse park. This lighthouse has been around since 1912 and sits in a 75 hectare park with many trails and places for good photos.

Rocky Sunrise

One of the great things about photographing the seaside is that it is constantly changing with the tides. I must have taken photos from this same area 20+ times (because it is a 5 minute walk from my place) but I can always seem to get a different photograph.

North Shore Forest

Just north of West Vancouver is Cypress Mountain, which is covered in second growth forest. Took this photos while doing the brothers creek hike. The forest was cool and dark but the the sun was peaking out through the trees in places.

Eagle Bluffs Flower

I went on a hike up Cypress mountain in West Vancouver, to go to Eagle Bluffs to take some pictures of the view, but when I arrived at the bluffs there was no view ... I was in the middle of a big cloud and couldn't see more than 20 meters in front of me. Since I had carried my camera all the way up I was determined to find something to photograph and found this cool looking flower on the bluffs, different than a view of the city but not bad photo none the less.
