Starfish Breakfast

Starfish Breakfast

When the tide is low along the shore of Vancouver, it is easy to find purple starfish clinging to the rocks. The starfish are about the size of the palm of my hand but the seagulls are still able to eat them, even thought it takes a while. This gull was working on getting the starfish down for about 5 minutes before he got to this point where only two tentacles were sticking out of his mouth, must be a nice meal for a gull even if it is a bit hard to swallow.

Photo Location: Kitsilano, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Camera: Nikon D5000 with a Nikon 18-200mm lens

so beautiful picture, I want to travel very much! The starfish are about the size of the palm of my hand but the seagulls are still able to eat them, even thought it takes a while.
