Every year salmon fill the water just off Vancouver and sizable fish can be caught just an hours boat ride from the city. Took this photo just before calling it a day as the sun set in the west and the moon rose in the east over the city.

Lounging Muskoka Style

Canadians didn't like the name Adirondack chair so we changed it to Muskoka chair and they are standard for lounging around Muskoka's many lakes.

No Place To Go

Herons regularly fish along the shores of Vancouver but on this warm August Sunday the tide was out in the afternoon so the beaches will filled with playing dogs and children, making much fewer place for the herons to fish. I found this one a ways from the popular beaches fishing peacefully till I bothered him by snapping some photos.

Rock Lake in Fall

The highlight of Booth Rock trail is the view of Rock Lake from the lookout. The view is even more spectagular in fall as the trees change color, I was lucky to do this hike just when the leaves were changing.

Overhanging Anchent Tree

I often consider makeing my photos black and white but 90% of the time I like them better in color. This is one of those rare times when I looked at the black and white and thought it really improved the photo. The color version contain a lot of green (from the grass and moss) and a very blue sky which distracts from the crumbling temple. The black and white version allows you to better view the ancient temple which is the best part of the photo.
