Canadian West Coast Fishing

Every year salmon fill the water just off Vancouver and sizable fish can be caught just an hours boat ride from the city. Took this photo just before calling it a day as the sun set in the west and the moon rose in the east over the city.

Baden Powell Trail Marker

The Baden Powell Trail is a 48 km hike across Vancouver’s north shore mountains. I have never tried to do it in one day but have done one part or another on different days. This was taken on the black mountain portion on a foggy summer morning.

Distant Black Tusk

The highest peak in the Squamish area (the area between Vancouver and Whistler) is black tusk. You can see it in the distance of this photo, one of these days I would love to get around to hiking up there to take a closer look.

Monarch Butterfly

Growing up in Ontario, I remember monarchs being around all the time. However, I never saw them while living in Vancouver or Asia. When I was back in Ontario for a visit, I saw a bunch of them while at Wasaga beach so took a couple of shots. They really are pretty fancy little insects.
