Calming Stare

Went for a walk down to the park near my place to watch the sunset and take some photos. None of my sunset pictures were that great this day but the ones of my wife turned out much better.

Fuzzy Flower Glow

Playing with a shallow depth of field with a fast lens I got last year, this is right from the camera, no heavy photoshop, like it for some reason but don't know why.

Wild Flower Focus

The camera focus in the in the middle of the flower "field" so most of the ones in full bloom are a bit out of focus. First time I have tried something like this and like the effect.

Glowing Content

Down by the ocean watching the sunset I took this portrait of my wife when she was seven months pregnant. I love the look of contentness (if that is a word) in the eyes.

Pink Gold

One spring afternoon I noticed these little pink flowers outside my neighbours house while walking home. Took a couple of quick shots and was pretty happy with the resulting images. The shallow depth of field is what makes it I think.

Yellow Microphone

Didn’t know what to name this one, it is a skunk cabbage in full bloom, there were tones of them along the Willowbrae Trail.

Lone Orange Starfish

These starfish were all along the rocks on the beaches around Tofino. There were many purple ones, which we also have in Vancouver but there were also some orange ones which I haven’t seen in Van.

Along the trails in Pacific Rim National Park are a number of totem poles. This bear was my favorite, feels like he is looking right at me while having dinner.
