Monarch Butterfly

Growing up in Ontario, I remember monarchs being around all the time. However, I never saw them while living in Vancouver or Asia. When I was back in Ontario for a visit, I saw a bunch of them while at Wasaga beach so took a couple of shots. They really are pretty fancy little insects.

Turbine Road

As we were driving up to northern Ontario to check out the fall colors, my daughter (then 4 months old) decided we could not wait till the next rest stop for a feeding, so we pulled down a farm road for a break. I snapped a couple of photos while my wife fed the baby. At the time we were surrounded by these wind turbines, they look cool but made quite a noise as they spun in the fall wind.

Rock Lake in Fall

The highlight of Booth Rock trail is the view of Rock Lake from the lookout. The view is even more spectagular in fall as the trees change color, I was lucky to do this hike just when the leaves were changing.

This farmland was littered with win turbines as we drove through south western Ontario on our way to Algonquin park. It was difficult to get a good shot because they were spinning pretty fast but I managed to get this one with the sun star.
