Purple Mountain Flowers

When we visited Waterton Lakes, there were a lot of flowers in bloom. There were fields and fields of these purple ones. Near the end of July is a great time to be in the Rockies.

Point Me Towards The Hotel

The building in the distance is the Prince of Wales hotel in Waterton Lakes National Park. Built in 1927 it is one of the largest all wood buildings in Alberta and has been designated a Canadian National Historic site.

2013 Rocky Mountain Calendar

Well, my 2013 Rocky Moutain photo calendar is ready for order. Thanks to those who helped with the photo selection, it really helped me choose the best 13 photos for the calendar.

Really Red Rock

Taken in Red Rock Canyon, the red rock is pretty impressive along the canyon walls but when it gets wet the red really comes out, like in the river bed.

After a Long Day

One of the longest days driving on our Rocky Mountain road trip was from Moyie Lake to Waterton Lake Provincial park. It would have only been 4 hours if we drove straight but when you have a one year old baby in the car, it takes a lot longer. We got into Waterton just before sunset and we rewarded for the drive by these types of beautiful scenes as we walked beside the lake.

Waterton Lakes National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and in my opinion one of the most beautiful places in Canada.

Prince Of Wales Hotel At Waterton Lakes

This is the postcard shot from Waterton Lakes. Had to get up pretty early to get this photo so it would have that glow from the sunrise. However, I think the photo I took from right behind me, with the sun rising next to the road is actually a better photo. What do you think?
