In the summer you could see a dock with canoe rentals here but they were under six feet of snow when I last visited lightning lake. Looking forward to taking photos of this lake when we are back in camping season.
We received a fresh blanket of snow overnight so headed out for an early morning snowshoe to take some photos. I was the first one out that day and did not see anyone else that morning. When I put my tripod into take this photo, the tripod legs sunk right into the snow till the tripod top was below my knees. I quickly realized I was standing in five feet of snow, luckily had a good pair of snowshoes on.
We received at least 20cm of snow overnight and when I went out snowshoeing in the morning everything was covered in a fresh blanket of snow. This group of trees stood out as particularly beautiful as I walked along the river bank.
