Whonnock Lake Mornings
Whonnock lake is my favorite place to play with my daughter on weekend mornings. I was there a couple weekends each month this past summer. I also went one morning for sunrise and caught the sun rising over the trees that surround the lake.
Distant Golden Ears Mountain
I like the way Golden Ears mountain pokes out of the back of this photo. I am hoping to climb this mountain later this summer once the snow melts down a little. Should be a great view from up there.
I was testing out a new telephoto lens I got a couple of weeks ago and was lucky to catch an amazing sunset that painted this field and house golden yellow.
Jerry Sulina Park
Jerry Sulina park is just outside the urban area of Maple Ridge. Only a 15 minute drive from my new place and a great place for a morning walk.
Across The Road
Took this shot right across my place in Maple Ridge. This is right in front of Haney Station, the same view all the commuters get while waiting for the morning trains, not too bad.
I took this photo just down from where I live on the Fraswer River. You can see the lights for my place off in the distance.
Fraser River Peace
This is where Kanaka creek joins the Fraser River . Apparently it is peaceful.
Kanata creek Reflection
Taken as the sun set behind the trees along Kanata creek in Maple Ridge.
The Fraser river just after sunset while there is still enough light to make the clouds a nice blue color.
Fraser River Misty Morning
A couple of weeks back I moved from Vancouver to Maple Ridge, which is about a 45 minute drive away. This is the first photo I am posting of Maple ridge, I suspect there will be many more to come.
Normally this water covered area is a pebble beach but there was flooding at the river below the lake so the damn was closed allowing the water to rise much higher than usual.
The white clouds and mist reflected well in the water but the darker trees didn't reflect as much making this parcial reflection.
These clouds are hiding the view of beautiful snow capped mountains in the distance. Unfortunately, they weren't visible till later in the day when the light was not as good for photos.
Log Locked Shores
Taken along the shores of Alouette lake near North beach camp ground on a calm misty morning.
Star Light Star Bright
After moving to Maple RIdge I started to tour the local parks. Pitt Wildlife Management area is one of my favorites. It is just north of Pitt Meadows but when you are there it feels like you are far from the city surrounded by mountains.
Pitt Meadows Grass Road
This trail goes along Pitt River all the way up to Pitt Lake with a beautiful view of the mountains all the way.
