Waianapanapa State Park Rocks

This photo is from Waianapanapa State Park in Maui, Hawaii, which is just outside of Hana. Waianapanapa which literally means glistening water in Hawaiian. The pitch black basalt rocks are beautiful as the waves crash against them. I took this photo just a short walk away from black sand beach which can be seen in the distance.

Red Sand Beach in Hana

This is Kaihalulu Beach or red sand beach and is a short hike down a little path in Hana. Lots of websites say the path is dangerous, but we found it a fairly easy ten minute walk. A really cool place if you are ever in Hana, Maui, Hawaii.

Pipiwai Bamboo Forest

There is a really cool bamboo forest along the Pipiwai trail on the way to the Waimoku Falls on Maui, Hawaii. We did the hike on a beautiful sunny day, but when we entered the bamboo forest it got very dark with only the small patches of light shining down through the bamboo that towered above us.
