About this Long Beach wall art
Long Beach runs 16 kilometres through Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, and most of it gets walked every day. The stretch away from the main parking lots is different. Between one high tide and the next the sand there goes back to ripples and nothing else, and on a clear August evening the sun drops over the water at the far end of the beach.
It had been a windy day in August 2016 and I came across a patch of sand without a single mark on it. I walked straight through, looked back, and saw only my own footprints leading off toward the sunset. So I circled round, set the camera low behind the last print, and let the line run away from me toward the light.
The footprints are mine, but on the wall they read as anyone's. This Long Beach Tofino wall art is a Long Beach sunset print for a hallway or a bedroom, the kind of frame that leaves the walk toward the water open for whoever stands in front of it.

About This Spot
This frame was made on the sand near the Green Point beach access, roughly midway along Long Beach in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, a short walk from the campground and well away from the busier lot at Incinerator Rock. Green Point is about 15 minutes south of Tofino on Highway 4, with day-use parking at the campground, and a Parks Canada park pass is needed. Walk a few minutes along the beach from any lot and the sand between the tide lines is usually untouched, with the August sun setting over the far end of the beach rather than straight out to sea.
