About this Ruckle Provincial Park wall art
At Beaver Point the shore is a run of lichen-covered rock with dry gold grass in the seams, and a few trees hold the edge of the bluff above the water. The tallest leans toward the sea, its crown pushed to one side by years of wind, while the Gulf Islands sit low across the channel.
I always feel lucky to walk a Gulf Island shore at sunset, and that July evening in 2022 gave me more than the sunset. A storm was building over the islands, and a few minutes after a full rainbow formed over Pender Island I turned to this wind-shaped tree and framed the two together.
The rain reached the point soon after and the colour went with it. This Salt Spring Island windswept tree print keeps the bent trunk and the passing arc in one frame, a Salt Spring Island rainbow print with the rock and grass of Ruckle Park underneath.

About This Spot
This Salt Spring Island print was made on the lichen-covered rock along the shore at Beaver Point, near the southeast tip of Ruckle Provincial Park, looking east over the water toward the outer Gulf Islands. From the Ruckle Park lot at the end of Beaver Point Road, about 10 km from the Fulford Harbour ferry, a short trail runs past the walk-in campsites to the point. On summer evenings the sun sets behind you here, which puts the warm light on the bluff grass and sends any rainbow out over the islands to the east.

The image is dye-sublimated into the coating of a ChromaLuxe aluminum panel, not printed on top. That's what gives a metal print its depth, its luminescence, and its longevity. Comes ready to hang on a hidden mount that floats it half an inch off the wall.
The image is face-mounted behind a 1/8-inch optically pure acrylic panel. The thickness adds depth, giving the print a slight glass-like quality where the image seems to sit just behind the surface. Polished edges, with a hidden mount on the back that floats the print half an inch off the wall.
