About this Francis Point Provincial Park wall art
Francis Point reaches out from the Sechelt Peninsula near Pender Harbour, a low headland of dark, lichen-spotted rock with trees leaning out over the water. Middle Bay sits tucked between two arms of that rock, and on a calm evening the water inside goes flat enough to show the stones on the bottom and the whole sky above them.
In August 2018 I walked in from the trailhead for the sunset and found a seat on the weathered rock above the bay. The sun went down behind Vancouver Island across the water, and for a few minutes after it had gone the clouds turned pink, then red, and the colour spread across the bay past the driftwood caught on the rocks.
On the Sunshine Coast the day ends over the island across the water, and the best seats are the rocks. This Sunshine Coast BC sunset wall art keeps that seat, and as Francis Point Provincial Park wall art it brings a quiet corner of Pender Harbour home.

About This Spot
Francis Point Provincial Park is on the Francis Peninsula near Madeira Park, at the end of Merrill Road off Francis Peninsula Road, on the northern Sunshine Coast reached by the Horseshoe Bay to Langdale ferry and Highway 101. A short walk from the small gravel lot leads to the rocky shore, and the lookout over Middle Bay is a few minutes along the trail. The bay faces west across the strait toward Vancouver Island, so on a summer evening the sun sets behind the island and the colour carries into the sheltered water. The park is day use only and the rock gets slippery when wet, so bring a headlamp if you stay for the afterglow.

The image is dye-sublimated into the coating of a ChromaLuxe aluminum panel, not printed on top. That's what gives a metal print its depth, its luminescence, and its longevity. Comes ready to hang on a hidden mount that floats it half an inch off the wall.
The image is face-mounted behind a 1/8-inch optically pure acrylic panel. The thickness adds depth, giving the print a slight glass-like quality where the image seems to sit just behind the surface. Polished edges, with a hidden mount on the back that floats the print half an inch off the wall.
