I had the beach to myself that spring. It was 2020 and there wasn't much to do, but Kye Bay is a short drive from home, and low tide happened to line up with sunrise, which doesn't come around often. The wind stayed down, the clouds caught fire overhead, and the pool gave the whole scene back in reflection.

About This Spot
This Kye Bay print was made on the sand flats at the south end of the bay, a short walk from the parking area off Windslow Road in Comox. The reflecting pools only form at the lowest tides, and the sunrise comes up over the Strait of Georgia to the east.
