On a calm winter morning the deck reflects whatever the sky gives it, and after an overnight rain that reflection runs the full length of the planks.
I came down on a December morning, a few hours after the rain stopped. The clouds were still hanging around but the sky was lit underneath them, the kind of break that doesn't last long. The deck was slick enough to mirror the scene, so I worked a wide frame and let the wharf carry the eye out toward the harbour.
