About this Inland Lake wall art
Inland Lake lies among forested hills north of Powell River, its far end closing to a gap between two dark ridges. On a still evening the water near the campground dock holds the whole sky, the firs along the shore and the lily pads near the bank.
I camped at the lake in late June 2020 and went down to the dock to wait for the sunset. The sun was dropping behind the mountains and the cloud sat low and grey, too low to catch any light. Then the distant sun found the underside of it, and the sky went yellow and red, the reflection just as bright as the clouds. I made this frame, and within five minutes the colour was gone.
Colour like that rarely lasts in nature. This Sunshine Coast BC lake sunset print keeps those five minutes at full strength, sky and water burning together. Hang it as Inland Lake Provincial Park wall art wherever the evening light reaches.

About This Spot
This was made from the dock by the campground at the south end of Inland Lake, about 12 kilometres north of Powell River along Inland Lake Road. The view runs up the lake between forested ridges, and in late June the sun sets behind the mountains to the northwest, so the colour arrives late and lands on the clouds rather than the hills. Wait for a calm evening, when the lily pads near the shore sit still and the lake takes a clean reflection.

About the Prints

The image is dye-sublimated into the coating of a ChromaLuxe aluminum panel, not printed on top. That's what gives a metal print its depth, its luminescence, and its longevity. Comes ready to hang on a hidden mount that floats it half an inch off the wall.
The image is face-mounted behind a 1/8-inch optically pure acrylic panel. The thickness adds depth, giving the print a slight glass-like quality where the image seems to sit just behind the surface. Polished edges, with a hidden mount on the back that floats the print half an inch off the wall.
