About this Francis Point Provincial Park wall art
The western shore of Francis Point Provincial Park is one long slope of bare rock, and the sun has turned most of it soft. Moss fills every crack and hollow, mixed with grass gone gold by August, and the whole bank tips down toward Malaspina Strait with Texada Island low on the horizon.
In August 2018 I made my first trip to the Sunshine Coast, staying about ten minutes on foot from the park. That evening I walked down at sunset and followed the shoreline, the moss giving underfoot like a path laid out for me. I set the camera close to the ground so the slope would carry the eye up to the sun and the streaks of cloud spreading above it.
If you remember a coastal walk by what was under your boots as much as by the view, this Pender Harbour sunset print keeps both. As a Sunshine Coast BC shoreline print it suits a tall wall, where the eye climbs from the warm moss to the light on the water.

About This Spot
This print was made on the moss-covered rock along the western shore of Francis Point Provincial Park, where the coastal trail opens onto Malaspina Strait and Texada Island. The park sits at the end of Merrill Road off Francis Peninsula Road near Madeira Park, and this stretch of shoreline is a short walk from the small parking lot. Summer sunsets drop toward Texada and light these west-facing slopes from the side. The moss is fragile and turns slippery when wet, so stay on the trail and bare rock where you can.

The image is dye-sublimated into the coating of a ChromaLuxe aluminum panel, not printed on top. That's what gives a metal print its depth, its luminescence, and its longevity. Comes ready to hang on a hidden mount that floats it half an inch off the wall.
The image is face-mounted behind a 1/8-inch optically pure acrylic panel. The thickness adds depth, giving the print a slight glass-like quality where the image seems to sit just behind the surface. Polished edges, with a hidden mount on the back that floats the print half an inch off the wall.
