About this French Beach wall art
French Beach sits on the Strait of Juan de Fuca twenty minutes west of Sooke, a long curve of wave-rounded stones backed by driftwood and a wall of leaning shore trees, with the Olympic Mountains across the water on a clear day. It is the first of the wild beaches on the road to Port Renfrew, a short walk from the parking lot in the provincial park.
Vancouver Island rains for most of the year, but the summers are dry, and dry summer evenings on this coast bring colour that lasts. I came down to the stones on a July evening in 2019, set up low with the beach running away toward the point, and waited while the clouds went from white to pink and the strait went still.
The stones are the subject here, each one rolled smooth by the waves, and the light does the rest. This French Beach Provincial Park print is a tall frame for the narrow wall every house has somewhere, French Beach Vancouver Island wall art with the pink still in it.

About This Spot
This French Beach print was made on the main beach in French Beach Provincial Park, a few minutes' walk from the day-use parking lot, looking along the stones toward the point. The park is on Highway 14 about 20 kilometres west of Sooke, open year-round with a campground and day-use area, and the beach faces south-west over the Strait of Juan de Fuca toward the Olympic Mountains. Low tide opens more of the stones, and the dry evenings of July and August give the best colour.

The image is dye-sublimated into the coating of a ChromaLuxe aluminum panel, not printed on top. That's what gives a metal print its depth, its luminescence, and its longevity. Comes ready to hang on a hidden mount that floats it half an inch off the wall.
The image is face-mounted behind a 1/8-inch optically pure acrylic panel. The thickness adds depth, giving the print a slight glass-like quality where the image seems to sit just behind the surface. Polished edges, with a hidden mount on the back that floats the print half an inch off the wall.
